The Sun Cross Button, by Arrow Mountain are imported from Australia. Ho-mei is a sewist who loves making her own clothes. She designs and makes all the Arrow Mountain buttons and sewing notions herself.
Her Sewing Story
Ever since coming across a dressmaking tutorial on YouTube in 2014, she has been hooked on sewing her own clothes. Following a Japanese pattern book, one of her first projects was a shirt dress in a plain brown fabric. With the buttons, she was hoping to find something special that would elevate her dress. With no luck in finding any that matched her vision, Ho-mei decided to design and make her own buttons – with the help of a laser cutting machine! Soon enough, she was making more buttons than she could ever use and that was when she started Arrow Mountain.
The name ‘Arrow Mountain’ represents how Ho-mei hopes her design would come across. She wants her designs to project the lightness of an arrow, as well as the calm and lasting presence of a mountain.
Ho-mei experimented with different materials and shapes before releasing her first button collection on Etsy in 2015. Her earliest designs are often inspired by geometric and origami shapes, like the Hex and Fox buttons. She also likes to play with different stitch pattern, for example the Sakura, Tulip and Cross Stitch buttons, as well as etching patterns onto the buttons – most notably the Half Moon Button collection.
As she spends more and more time sewing, she also started making other sewing notions needed for her projects. The wooden tags, for example, are great for adorning little bags. The Maker Badges collection is conceived to celebrate the learning milestones on one’s sewing journey – such as a badge for mastering the use of a serger/overlocker, and another one for knowing how to alter/draft patterns.

De knopen en overige naai accessoires komen van het Australische bedrijf Arrow Mountain. Ho-mei maakt alle producten zelf en heeft ze ook ontworpen. Ze heeft prachtige bamboo en acryl knopen en staan prachtig op al jouw (zelfgemaakte) kleding.
