Yumiko Higuchi was born in 1975 and lives in Tokyo.

After graduating from Tama Art University, Yumiko worked as a handmade bag designer. Yumiko was absorbed in the joy of embroidery and started creating activities in 2008 as an embroidery artist. He has published numerous works on websites and blogs. The work is done by hand, from design to embroidery and finishing. The aim is to create works that are unique to Yumiko Higuchi, regardless of the traditional expression of embroidery.

Yumiko has written many books on Embroidery including Zakka Embroidery but also Embroidered Botanicals, Year of Embroidery, and Simply Stitched.
