A family business established in 1928, Novita Oy is the largest manufacturer of yarns in the Nordic countries. Novita has been spinning yarn for 90 years. The Novita team handles the entire production process, from raw wool to the final ball. The company’s spinning mill in Kouvola, Finland manufactures one million kilograms, or 10 million balls of yarn, per year and is carbon neutral.
Sustainability is one of Novita’s most important values, which is why the wool used mainly comes from areas near Finland, such as Norway and the UK. The merino wool comes from Spain. In this way, they can minimise the carbon footprint and avoid transporting the materials from across the ocean.
