These Red Lace surgical-grade, stainless steel circulars have a smooth, satin-sheen finish. Their weight and size sits perfectly in your hand, while the steel’s finish makes sure your yarn doesn’t slip off the needles unwanted, but rather at a controlled rate. The multi-strand red steel cable is memory-free and nylon-coated, allowing for your yarn to slide right over. The lace tips are machine-precisioned, with the needle size laser imprinted on each tip pair, so you will always know the exact needle size!
The tips and joints are extremely smooth and sharp making this our favourite knitting needles for all kinds of projects, from knitting lace to chunky yarn.

ChiaoGoo Red Lace Circular Needles are produced by ChiaoGoo, a family-owned knitting supplies brand that was started by four brothers. Growing up in Linan, “the Bamboo capital of China”, the brothers’ family has a long-standing tradition in working with bamboo and knitting supplies.
Their Grandfather was a bamboo craftsman, who spent the majority of his life traveling from town to town with his bamboo tool kit, making household goods such as chairs, tables, mattress sheets, rice barrels, baskets, and steamers. And the brother’s Father followed in his grandfather’s footsteps building a workshop in Liana in the 1980s. This workshop produced household goods, but the family’s primary product became knitting needles.
The original demand for the knitting needles came from Mum. She was an excellent knitter. She was ChiaoGoo’s first tester, and frequently asked for special needles to match her needs.
She is the inspiration for ChiaoGoo’s brand name, meaning “highly skillful and crafty lady”.
In 2005, the youngest brother moved to Troy, Michigan, from where ChiaoGoo’s knitting line is now marketed and distributed. Today, Chiaogoo has expanded to become one of the most respected producers of knitting and crochet tools.
ChiaoGoo needles are made from either bamboo or surgical grade stainless steel. The bamboo needles are made from Moso bamboo, one of the largest and strongest bamboos, making them an eco-friendly choice.
All stainless steel products are made with surgical grade stainless steel, hypo-allergenic and not reactive to sensitive skin. They have a smooth, satin sheen that doesn’t reflect light and are strong but also lightweight.
