John Arbon Textiles Exmoor Sock 4ply is a beautiful fibre from the John Arbon Textiles family mill.
John Arbon and his wife Juliet started the John Arbon Textiles Mill nineteen years ago.
John Arbon Textiles is based on a very simple concept: a return to old-style textile manufacture by sustainably sourcing raw fibre locally, wherever possible, and converting it in the UK into high-quality tops and yarns, rather than racking up air miles by chasing the cheapest available labour.
Their mill is one of only a handful of small-scale worsted spinning mills still operating in the UK. John likes to use fibre from sheep on their doorstep whenever possible and, with the help of his trusty team, transforms it into unique and sumptuous blends in the form of yarn and tops.
Rather than being focussed on the outcome alone, JAT pours love into every part of the process. With great love and respect for the machines involved, the breeds of sheep and kinds of wool, John and Juliet will only work with fibre that excites them.
And that excites us. John Arbon yarns are wonderful yarns to work with. It’s one of those yarns that you knit or crochet with and you know your work will last for decades.

Besides the John Arbon Textiles – Exmoor Sock yarn, we carry more John Arbon yarns which you can find here.
