The eagerly awaited Tukuwool DK is now available! Spun and dyed in Finland from 100 % Finnish wool. Tukuwool DK has the same unique characteristics that you fell in love with Tukuwool Fingering.
Lively woolen spun two-ply yarn is a delight to work with. Tukuwool DK is a genuine workhorse yarn for sweaters and accessories such as mittens and hats.
Tukuwool DK is at its best in colorwork as well as structures such as cables. The color chart includes heathered deep and vibrant colors that tempt you to mix and play with. After wet blocking the stitches relax and the fabric softens and evens.
The wool for Tukuwool DK comes from Finnish sheep farms that grow Finnsheep and Finnsheep/Texel breeds. Woolen spun Finnsheep wool is warm and airy, soft and rustic.
DK stands for Double Knitting weight, approximately 22 sts per 10 cm on 4mm needles. It can be knitted using 3.75mm – 4.5mm and the gauge will be between 18-22 sts.
Swatching is the best method to find out if the yarn suits the pattern.
Care: Tukuwool DK is non-superwash treated – wash gently by hand in cold water and lay flat to dry.
May be felted in the washing machine.

“Tukuwool was born from the love for wool. Also from the passion to create something new and unique. We want to give the world a pure Finnish yarn – raised, spun and dyed in Finland. Knitting is in the center and how material and color works together. Our yarns speaks from individuality, braveness and deep feelings.
Our story began in the year 2014 as a one women hobby. Pauliina Hurme made amazing work and created a working international and Finnish yarn brand. TitiTyy bought the brand in April 2016. Now Tukuwool is growing into a strong international yarn brand. We have several retailers in Finland and all over the world. International demand is growing all the time as we speak.
Tukuwool Fingering is our first yarn and it’s production started in the autumn of 2016. We have now 23 colors in the shade card. In the autumn of 2016 we launched a new Finnish sock yarn Tukuwool Sock which has some of the same colors as our Fingering.
Our home is in Jyväskylä but the yarn is spun in Mikkeli and dyed in Hämeenkyrö. 100 % Finnish wool is the soul of the yarn.
Since the very beginning it has been about the play with colors and joy of knitting. We want to spread the joy by being part of the knitting community. We work closely together with the top knitwear designers of the world.”
