“Wol met Verve is a dye studio for luxury, hand-dyed yarns, but also a shop for much more than that. I learned to knit as a little child and I grew up in a household where everyone was creative; woodworking, sewing clothes, spinning yarn, weaving, you name it, we did it! Almost 10 years ago I started spinning yarn, dyeing yarn and I picked up knitting again. In 2011 I opened the Wol met Verve Webshop and in 2014 I opened a little yarn shop in our little village, next to a canal. Some of my customers actually come by boat! In 2016 we also moved into a dye studio / warehouse / workshop space. In November 2018 we decided to close our yarn shop and we now only sell through our own web shop (february 2019), at various trade fairs and through a number of stores at home and abroad.
Wool with Verve?
What does that actually mean? Searching for a name for the brand and the webshop we came to this wordplay. With ‘verve’ we refer to ‘verven’ or ‘verf’ which means ‘dyeing’ and ‘dye. In Dutch, verve also means enthusiasm, spirit or energy. And that is absolutely true! Our beautiful yarns are dyed with great enthusiasm and dedication. It is often heavy work, certainly time-consuming and I hardly ever have a day off. However, I do it with love because it is so great to see that people can be so happy with something I made, with yarns that I dyed. That’s why I do it with verve every day!”
