Yipee Yarn – Chunky Baby Alpaca
Yipee Yarn’s Chunky Baby Alpaca is a beautifully soft, hand-dyed 2-ply Alpaca yarn from local indie dyer Janine Camijn. For this season’s batch, Janine has dyed the skeins in a gorgeous gradient of shades ranging from warm oxblood to a cool light blue — sometimes speckled, sometimes with slight fades.
Every single one of Janine’s colours are a wonderful base for your project, and will without a doubt brighten up your day as you wear your (incredibly soft) finished project.
With a weight of 100m/100g, Yipee Yarn’s Chunky Baby Alpaca will easily cover a pair of adult mittens, or an adult’s hat. Two skeins will make for a luxurious, cosy cowl for cold mornings. The yarn is non-superwash, so please hand-wash with care. Use 6-8mm needles.
As skeins are dyed individually, slight differences may occur, even within the same dye lot. We recommend alternating skeins, to avoid colour changes in a multi skein projects.
This Baby Alpaca comes from the Peruvian Andes. It’s sourced from smaller farmers whose way of life is their animals. The mill work closely with the alpaca farmers.
Yipee Yarn is founded by Janine Camijn, located in Delft, the Netherlands.
Janine describes herself as a “yarn investigator”, nature lover and music lover. She takes her inspiration from music (you might guess by the names of the colourways), art, nature and everyday things. Sometimes, she just lets the colours go their own way, creating surprising, vivid and beautiful skeins you’ll love to knit with.
All Yipee Yarn is hand-dyed in Janine’s kitchen. Yipee Yarn is, without exception, mulesing-free. Janine aims to make sustainable choices as much as possible, using recycled paper, solar panels, reducing water waste. She dyes with both acid and natural dyes.
