While cycling round Shetland with everything packed into two panniers, she promised herself not to buy anything – not even yarn! But after a few days the beautiful colours in the countryside, she found it difficult to resist the yarn and Pyukkleen was created.
The yarn used is an aran weight with 20st x 20 rounds gauge in stranded colour work on a 5.5mm needle.
A small knitting business based in Edinburgh, founded by designer Ysolda Teague, selling knitting pattern pdfs, books and a carefully selected range of yarns and accessories.
We release patterns both individually and as collections. Ysolda took up knitting while studying English Literature when her bedroom didn’t have enough room for sewing and she couldn’t sit still in lectures. An inability to follow directions combined with a compulsion to understand how things work quickly led to a rather diy approach to patterns. Over the last decade she’s pioneered new models for self publishing for both her patterns and six books and developed a reputation for clear directions and interesting construction methods. She continues to design while developing new products and managing a small team who share her nerdy excitement about all things knitting and yarn.”
