Making Soft Dolls by Steffi Stern is a “gem of a book” (Stuart Hillard). In this comprehensive book Making Soft Dolls Steffi guides us through the process of being able to make our own for ourselves, for our children and for our grandchildren. These open-faced dolls offer freedom for the child to create their own characters. The idea is to make it yourself and imbue it with love that you can pass on. A lovingly hand-made doll makes the perfect present and these dolls are easy to make and will be loved for generations.

Steffi Stern feels passionate about crafting and is often heard saying that ‘there is no craft police’ encouraging people young and old to let their creativity flow and break out of crafting traditions. Steffi runs The Makerss together with her business partner Sophie Buckley who co-authored their first book Making Needle Felted Animals.

Steffi’s new book Making Simple Needle Felts is a back-to-basics guide including 40 great seasonal projects for adults and children. Steffi lives in Nailsworth with her husband, four children, three dogs, two cats, one tortoise and numerous chickens.
