Finishing and Fixing Workshop

Your knitting project isn’t finished when you cast off your last stitches: Finishing and Fixing is an integral part of anything you’ll ever knit. During this class, you’ll learn how to finish your project correctly, and make it last for the years to come.

Requirements
This class is for beginners who have attended Learn to Knit – the Basics. For other knitters, we ask that you know how to cast on a project, knit and purl with confidence.
This class includes preparation homework, about which we will inform you two weeks before date.

In this class, you will

  • Learn how to finish your project correctly in different ways,
  • Learn how to seam, graft and weave in ends
  • Be taught how to fix your project.

Materials included
The class fee doesn’t include materials. However, you will receive 10% discount during classes on all the materials needed for the workshop or project.*

The classes
The class takes approximately 2 hours. We’ll provide you with plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits.
Classes take place on Saturdays from 11.00-13.00.
Due to Covid-19, we advise wearing a mask during the lesson. Your seat will be at an appropriate distance from other participants.

We have a 48 hour cancellation policy. Any cancellations that occur 48 hours or more before the scheduled workshop are eligible for a refund or (if possible) to be re-booked at no additional cost.  / Wij hanteren een opzegtermijn van 48 uur. Wij vragen je daarom de workshop uiterlijk 48 uur van te voren af te zeggen, zodat we deze dan kosteloos voor je kunnen verplaatsen (indien mogelijk) of kunnen vergoeden.

About your teacher

Roos Vlaskamp is a knitwear designer and archeologist based in The Hague. Her work is influenced by current fashion trends, which she skillfully combines with colourwork and texture. This combination makes for thoughtful patterns designed to wear and love for years to come.
Roos enjoys explaining both the basic and more advanced knitting techniques. Her strength lies in removing your fear of making mistakes, putting you at ease and encouraging you to explore personal unchartered knitting territories. Be in for a laugh and a boost of confidence and skill!
