In this raised embroidery workshop, you will learn some intricate techniques that will add 3 dimensional and textural effects to your embroidery.
Raised embroidery, also known as stumpwork, has been used since the 17th century. In recent years there has been renewed interest in this amazing technique to create more contemporary and modern designs.
Join us and master the techniques of raised embroidery that will certainly spark your imagination!

 

What will you learn?

This 3 hour workshop will teach you the basics to raised embroidery. You’ll learn a useful set of different stitches that will set you well on your way to your first project of 3-D embroidery.

Skill level
This is an intermediate level workshop and basic knowledge of embroidery is required. If you’ve done the introduction to embroidery class first, you can continue into this class. 

Included in the workshop is the use of:

  • embroidery hoop
  • embroidery floss
  • embroidery needles

After class there is an option to purchase hoops, extra threads and needles with a 10% discount.

Our Introduction to Raised Embroidery workshop is taught by Sarita.

Sarita from Mindful Cactus is a psychologist and sociologist. The focus of her theoretical practice lies in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Positive Psychology, and Solution Focused Therapy.

Having lived in Canada and Hong Kong before, Sarita now has been living in Scheveningen over the past seven years. Teaches workshops with a focus on Mindfulness and making, from Mending and embroidery to cooking.
